26th - 28th December 2005 - The SIN city, Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas December 2005

The only place on earth where one can sin without being judged. Here is where I spent the last few days of my holiday.

Elegance ... Beauty ... Luxury...

This is Bellagio, the top hotel in Las Vegas and its famous fountain. AND yea, I stayed in it.

Look ...

and look ...

and LOOK!

This DAMN room is bigger than my studio apartment! @#$%&*!!!

Observations during my stay in Vegas tell me that this city is all about 1. Casinos 2. Beautiful (Theme) Hotels 3. Shows (Adult) and what matters most is ...

Being rich,
My first attempt at gambling in a casino ... beginners luck huh ;)
Winning money,

& having the company of a pretty girl ;)

I Need More Time!!!

School started and work is piling up ... I've been so busy recently that I can't even find time to blog. Nonetheless, I managed to upload some of my photos that I promised.

Fantasy + Action

DisneyLand and Universal Studios

It takes 7+ hours to drive from my place to LA. Luckily I wasn’t the one driving … dear took the wheel throughout the journey cause she wanted me to rest after a days work. The journey was long and tiring ... dark and eerie. What made it worse was that we had to drive past winding mountain roads with no rest stops nearby. Our gas went low and there were no petrol stations nearby. Thank god we met a kind hearted man who offered to lend me his petrol card to refill my tank.

I had lotsa of fun at DisneyLand and Universal Studios … especially in Universal Studios, where you get to see all the action in movies presented right in front of your eyes. Stun shows, camera tricks, tools, settings, etc … you name it, they have it. I’ve captured quite a few of them in video. I’ll upload once I find a host.

Coasters and more coasters!

SixFlags Marine World @ Vallejo

SixFlags really lives up to its reputation. Never have I tried scarier coaster rides than these in my live before. Dear still made me sit in the front row for most of the rides … shes … simply … CRAZY!!! Hahahaha. I couldn’t really walk straight after these rides but it was really fun though. =)

SixFlags 07/30/2005

My worst experience in the States so far …

I made a wrong turn into San Francisco while on my way back from SixFlags Marine World. I have totally no idea where I was but it sure looks like Gotham City. The traffic was heavy, the streets were all one way (I couldn’t make a U-turn back), dark and dirty, and suspicious people were roaming around everywhere. I didn’t dare to get out of the car, so I tried my luck by driving around hoping that I would be able to find my way out. I gave up after half an hour and stopped by a petrol station to ask for directions. The minute I stepped out of the car, I was approached by a Black asking if I was lost (He had a few friends with him … scary). I told him that I needed directions and he gave it to me straight away. BUT … he asked for some tips. I gave him 3 bucks, he wanted more … I ignored him anyways and drove off. Surprisingly, with his directions, I was able to get back onto the freeway in 5 minutes. Maybe I should have tipped him more eh.

She ...

Her hands were torn but there were no complaints ... In the midst of my dreams, I could hear the sounds of the scrubbing of clothes. She, has been washing my clothes daily ... even the last few hours before flying off. Her knees were scarred by my iron but she didn't utter a single word. You could see the weary look on her face ... obviously tired out from cooking and running errands for me ... but she didn't stop there. She, made sure that my stomach was filled all the time and brought me to sleep every night after a hard day's work with her massages and laughter. She ... is my dearest Michelle.

Seeing her enter the departure gate, I couldn't hold my tears. I had the same feeling when I left my family at Changi airport a month ago ... I've long treated her as family.

The joys and memories she gave me were beyond words. Now that shes gone, the only thing I can do is to pick myself up and work hard so that I won't disappoint her ...

Michelle I Love You!

The Car "chase"

How many of you have ever shopped for cars?
From browsing to test driving to mechanics check then to signing the title deed. The feeling is GREAT! Again, nothing comes easy. I had a few hiccups along the way before I finally got my own car. I'll share with you some of my experiences.

My first target: Nissan 240sx

I had a good deal of fun driving it top down on Fwy 101 (One of the more famous highways in CA). However, as good as it looks, the water coolent bottle was damaged and some engine parts were loose. The seats of the car were torn too. The owner asked for USD$3k and the mechanic needed another USD$500 to revive the car. I gave it up unwillingly ...

Lesson learnt: Don't judge a book by its cover.

Ford Mustang "The American Dream"

The one that I almost bought was similar but red in colour. Its a sports car that all young Americans want to own. Being a 3.8L car, imagine the power when you floor the accelerator. Hehehe

Before I go any further, I shall give a short explaination on this tool called "CARFAX".Whenever Americans buy a used car, they will rely on "CARFAX" to check the history of thevehicle. If the car got stolen/vandalized/into an accident/etc before, it would be CROWNED"Salvage title" irregardless of whether u fix it, replace the engine or even have the wholecar replaced. The resale value of the car would then be 0.

So what about CARFAX? Coz the car that I almost bought had a "Junk title", which is worse than a "Salvage title". Although the car was in a perfect condition (because it wasre built), I couldn't buy it. CARFAX #@*&# me.

Lesson learnt: I hate CARFAX.

Other cars that I missed along the way include BMW Coupe, Honda Civic Coupe, Toyota Celica, etc.AND FINALLY .....

MY CAR, MAZDA MIATA MX5!!!!!!

GOTCHA Aaron! I purposely used ur favourite car to test ur reaction. I didn't buy it but its kinda cheap here, approx USD$4k for a 2nd hand. Maybe I'll consider it when I change my car in a few months time.

In the end, I settled for a 3.5L luxury car known as "Acura Legend", also known as "Honda Legend" in Singapore. Cost me around USD$4k. I'll post pics of it soon so keep checking back!
